A Meditation: On Mark 8:22-26 // He Had Spit On His Eyes //

I want to share this post from Matheus with you. I am confident this will speak to you and encourage you to trust Him to lead you from where you are to be closer to Him.

And they came to Bethsaida. And some people brought to him a blind man and begged him to touch him. And he took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the village, and when he had spit on his eyes and laid his hands on him … his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly. And he sent him to his home, saying, “Do not even enter the village.” – Mark 8:22-26 (ESV)

The only times people exchange any sort of fluids (or even spit) are in the times of complete intimacy. When Christ used His saliva in the process of healing this man, I bet it symbolized His desire to have a really intimate relationship with us.

But before Christ could heal this man, he had to lead him out of the village, which interestingly was not a place where the blind man belonged…
